Health Update - November 2023

Hey everyone, this video was taken this past week of Dianna cutting her hair again. Dianna still hasn’t gotten out of bed and it’s been long enough that her hair has grown out again.

Health Update —

For the past 2 or more months, Dianna has been dealing with a very heavy crash. As we know, these crashes keep her physically restricted, but equally as painful is the brain fog she experiences from the mental fatigue. From what we understand working with her doctor, these crashes are to be expected, and expected to be long. So though it’s hard for all of us to stay positive when it seems like she’s barely getting better, it’s important to remember that long set backs are a part of the slow recovery.

I(Levi, Dianna’s editor) make Dianna’s day meals Monday through Friday and I have not seen her in months. I give the meals to Kyle and he takes them to her as she is too weak to respond to anyone. I tell this story just to illustrate what it’s like here and how it’s still a lot of Dianna laying down trying to stay quiet. Sometimes I leave and come back and it’s surreal to see that she’s still like this in the thick of the disease. The GOOD news is for about the past week or 2, Kyle has been telling me she’s feeling slightly better. They believe she is slowly moving out of this crash, and they are both feeling more hopeful.

Dianna’s mom visits as often as she can. And we often express to each other our gratitude for all you guys sticking around with us. These month long “crashes” or “setbacks” are a reminder of how slow and long this process is and how none of it would be doable without the help. Dianna is very saddened to imagine she may be like this for 5 or 10 or more years. But we all feel like at least she can have something of a shot at a normal life thanks to all the help received here.

Thank you so much everyone. I wish I had more updates to give you every month, but the update always seems to be that she’s still in very early recovery, moving slowly and holding on. Stay tuned for another bigger health update on the Youtube channel soon.

I went to see Professor Brian Cox on his Odyssey lecture tour in Belfast (I travelled from Dublin Ireland) and I was thinking of you and how fascinating you would have found it. Wishing you all the best xx ❤️

I just read the following, an apparently successful treatment for some symptoms of long Covid: https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/medical/popular-exercise-supplement-may-offer-relief-for-long-covid-sufferers/ar-AA1gYSAR?cvid=a49bad7f64d84399c4789ecbd7efa3ce&ocid=winp2fptaskbarhover&ei=8 For example, "Taking creatine for 6 months appears to improve tissue bioenergetics and attenuate clinical features of post-COVID-19 fatigue syndrome, possibly due to its energy-replenishing and neuroprotective activity. “Endorsing creatine might be of great importance in tackling this prevalent condition, but additional studies are warranted to confirm our findings in various post-COVID-19 cohorts." This brings me extra hope for Dianna to feel better sooner rather than later.

Keep recovering Dianna!

I can't wait for you to make a full recovery. I know it will happen. Like the 2 slit experiment, viewing the process collapses the wave function. But if that's true, if someone is absolutely certain of the outcome... shouldn't that improve the odds? I tested this in Vegas once. I had to have a few shots so I could believe 100 percent. So I was at this slot machine with my brother and I told him I was going to get all 7's. It happened. And every pull it happened 4 times. Then my brother tried and he lost every time. There has to be something related with believing with certain and energy. When physics girl comes back to us, I want to see if a video like this comes out. I know you're going to get better. Just don't take too long ok?

Alexander James

You’re so lucky! You have a treat ahead of you. So many excellent videos.

Rosy

I have never watched a Physics Girl video. I came because Destin opened the door. Strangely, I don't support him on Patreon, but will support you in his place. Your struggle makes me think of Sam and Frodo. Samwise was always my hero; so maybe I am supporting Kyle on Patreon? I just wish Gandalf would send you some eagles.

P S

I’ve enjoyed Diana’s videos in the past but was unaware of her condition until I saw Destin’s video about her. I’m glad you sign on and help support her. Thanks, Destin, for spreading the word.

Gregory Spear

You get better soon! I pray for you every night to get better. I love your videos, they inspire. I just joined your patron channel just now. I'm starting off with the 5$ a month but will bump it up higher when more work comes in. Construction industry. Please 🙏 get better and come back but do NOT push yourself too hard. You will be in my prayers

It is lovely to see The Physics Girl has liked some of the comments on this page.

Ray of hope

I hope all the wonderful messages get to you, Dianna. You're an amazing person and we love you. Thank Destin for highlighting the amazing husband you have in Kyle. Kyle you're doing an amazing job and from experience, this is the hardest job anyone can do. We can't wait to see the day you are back on your feet inspiring all, until that day comes we'll be waiting eagerly, and absolutely all thoughts on getting better first. Sending love and positive energy to you and your family.

shan

Where with you, Diana. I wish there was something more we could do. You're in my thoughts and prayers. I'm encouraged to see the same from so many others. I look forward to your continued recovery, however long it takes. I look forward to showing my future kids all your wonderful videos. Wishing you all the best <3

Aram

(To Diana) Someone as positive as you will get better sooner rather than later. I wish you well. Until then, I am not unsubscribing.

Όμηρος Χιωτάκος

I'm very happy Destin and Diana are friends. As I hear there might be worries about patreon, I joined. Also get better ! I just had baby twin girls and hope you will inspire them as a smart and talented young women. Bises 😽

Loïc Desiron

All the best to Diana! Setbacks are normal with ME (as bad as that sounds). Remember that they always get better and with the pacing she does they will go from Months to weeks to days to someday nothing. It's a long journey but never give up hope because the good days always follow a setback.

Oliver Erlewein

I did not know about your illness until I saw Destin's video this evening. You are a wonderful, inspiring person, and you are not letting anybody down by focusing on your healing and recovery for as long as it takes. I joined your patreon just to say that and to voice my emotional support for you and Kyle and everybody else close to you.

Mark J. Blair

Please use the funds to make Diana's situation better in any way possible. I only subscribed once she got sick so that In my small way I hope I can help. Her spirit is pure and true, please make her comfortable above all else. Thankk you for the periodic updates

IT Ninja

I’m praying for you, Dianna and your family. You’re a wonderful human being and I believe God has a plan for you and your family. Don’t worry about making videos!! My Patreon support is strictly to be of a little financial assistance to you and your family. I want nothing more than to see you continue to get better. ❤️

Paul Shattuck

I became a member, not for content/transaction, but to just support you until you are better. That should be your focus. You are good for the world. I’ll patiently wait your return ❤️🙏🏾 shout out to your loving husband Kyle!

DeMar M.

I know it's going to come across as lazy, but this comment summarized in an eloquent way my feelings, so forgive me but I am going to tag myself to the message above and say "what he/she said". After watching Dustin's video I'm any a little emotional, but happy to hear such positive news. I also have never supported a creator on Patreon to "just make videos" before, and I'm happy to say I still don't (for now). I join the rest of the crew in agreement, your job is to recover and get well, and I'm here to offer a small contribution to that effort. Love, Sasquatch

Sasquatch

100% agree your job is to get better. You have brought so much joy to my life and I am so grateful for you. I sincerely hope the best for you and your recovery journey.

Thank you Destin for sharing about Dianna's condition. It is wonderful to know she's being taken care of by friends like you and such a loving husband like Kyle. I will be following the updates and I hope Dianna's health recovers quickly. I've been subscribed to both of you and I enjoy your channels and all the content you all have created. Best wishes to you all!!

Sending y’all love after seeing the latest SmarterEveryDay video - my wife was diagnosed with MS a couple years ago and I know how hard health issues can be to overcome. Good luck, and yes - her job is to just get better. Nothing else.

I have had mitochondrial based CFS for 2 decades. A single jump once a day this year has increased my muscle mass by 10lbs. I have to lay down after so I do it right before bed. I found this in a medical paper dealing with patients that had been in the hospital for over 6 weeks.

Alex Taylor

Saw Destin’s video and was surprised that I wasn’t already a patron. Joined and your entire job is to be as well as you can! Sending love from Minnesota.

Linda BKuzma

Just focus on getting better. No one expects anything different from you.And Do what is necessary and good for you, nothing else. Get well soon!

Dustin, thank you for sharing. Just as on your channel you share more than information, you also share joy and inspiration. Diana, for the first time I am opening a Patreon account to provide financial support. You have always earned my likes and subscription on YouTube because, like Dustin, you provide us with joyful insight into the mysteries of the world we live in and every post you share gives me joy and amazes me with the beauty of this world. My Patreon gift to you comes from the spirit of wonder, joy, and curiosity you share with us. Diana we need you in this world, take care of yourself and come back to us when you are ready. With friendship and love please accept this recurring Patreon support. PS to Kyle - Kyle, thank you. When the time comes in my life to provide care and support for those I love I will remember what Dustin has shared about your support for Diana and it will encourage me to give with joy.

I was wondering, does Dianna's doctor make house calls, or virtual calls? I can't imagine she's able to get up, get dressed and get in and out of a car. Does she get anything like vitamin B injections, or something I don't know about that could help, from her doctor? Again, just wondering. Is there medication(s) that help boost her immune system and reduce the viral load on her immune system? My husband and I send Dianna positive thoughts and energy for a full recovery soon. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Cat Gray from ShaneCat Studio

Wishing Diana to recover as fast as it’s medically possible and leave this devastating stage of her life behind. I remember her being so energetic and wit in front of the camera and she WILL be back. Me and my wife are pulling our daughter out of severe depression and OCD. It’s an upward spiral and I know what it feels to wait WHEN it will be better. But it WILL - I have zero doubts about it.

Artyom

Thanks for the updates from time to time, just became a member so you can continue to concentrate on getting better 👍 don't worry about videos, you're not a YouTube machine, you're a human being and we love you 🤗

Markus Szumovski

Wishing you all the best. I have learned so much from your videos. So glad to join your community and support you. As a disabled veteran, I can confirm that having a community is as important as medicine. Maybe more important. Glad you have a loving husband and family to support you. Merry Christmas and happy New Year.

David Golden

Stay strong! Glad you got to see Destin! Praying for you to keep getting better! Praying for your husband to continue his awesome caring and love for you!

Thinking of yall and thankful for the opportunity to help in a small way here. Really appreciate the updates and the guest appearances on your channel. I may have missed that help was needed without those. Best holiday wishes from Georgia.

Just saw Destin's video. I think it is time to increase my Patreon contribution!

Long COVID refers to a condition where individuals continue to experience symptoms or develop new ones several weeks or months after the acute phase of a COVID-19 infection. These lingering symptoms can affect various organs and systems, and they may include fatigue, shortness of breath, difficulty concentrating (often referred to as "brain fog"), joint pain, and more. It's a complex and ongoing area of research as scientists work to understand the mechanisms and develop effective treatments for those experiencing prolonged symptoms after recovering from the initial infection. Hope this helps explain her condition.

Zachary M Carter

We need your energy, please get well soon.

Best wishes from Buffalo, NY. I hope you get to enjoy the holidays.

I just started watching “Proof of Concept” on Curiosity Stream and knew I recognized you as Physics Girl but I Googled to make sure. And then I find you’re suffering from this terrible disease. Please keep in your heart what a gift you’ve been to so many people including me. We are all rooting for you and cannot wait to see you back doing what you love. I can’t wait to hear you explain the science behind your recovery!

Tom

Thinking of you all, a lot ❤️.

I just saw Dianna's "Fastest punch ever" short. Fascinating! I never knew that! Made me want to stop by and let her know we miss her. Stay positive, push through. You'll have stories to tell and inspiration to give when you get to the other side! ❤️

Dianna, we are giving you our Christmas wish. If we've learned anything from watching dozens of Hallmark movies that means a sassy friend will give you good advice, and your handsome husband will surprise you with the perfect present, and there will be snow in Southern California. But just in case none of that happens we wish you and yours peace and healing rest. Love from Kim and Michael

Hello Dianna and co. My name is Clayton, I'm a new patreon member. I just want to add my voice to the many people that, undoubtedly, are also looking forward to your good moments, hours and days, as well as your recovery. I just realized that you were having a trying time thru a youtube update. I expect that you have more friends and fans then you know, as we don't all join and reach out from the interwebernet ethers! I'll encourage more occasional Youtube updates from friends and family so that people like myself, that have in the past enjoyed your posts there, are more likely informed of ways to help support a favorite content-er! It had been along time since I was able to scratch that physics itch that you so enjoyably assisted me with in the past. So I say an explicit and heart felt - Thank You! - for your delightful ways and content. From yet another internet friend... XxOo!

Hello Diana, Levi, Kyle,

Nuth Mitrteeraroj

Hello Diana, A little note to tell you that I often think of you. I’m from Quebec (Canada). I also have severe long COVID which keeps me bedridden. I am hopeful that a treatment will be able to help us in less than 5 years. I'm holding on to that. I was a scientific research coordinator before having COVID. WE WILL GET OUT OF THIS. 🌞

Julie Lamarche

Look I'm sorry to be the random person offering advice on the internet. I have had long covid for 20 months. The single best thing I did was have a hysterectomy. The uterus and large masses of endometreosis leaving my body (I didn't know I had endo at all) was the single best thing I have done so far for my recovery. Xxx There are studies linking endo and long covid. Science is also my background. Xxx

Parnos

Still fighting the fight and I am so proud of that. However long this takes Diana, well keep supporting you!

You poor sweet lady *hugs* I myself have Fibromyalgia and am in constant pain and exhaustion, with the brain fog utterly nuking my mind most of the time, but I am nowhere near as wiped out as you are Dianna :-( I really wish that there was something I could suggest or offer to help, but even though I've suffered with this for 15+ years now myself, I have nothing really that helps to alleviate these symptoms or the condition as a whole I'm afraid. All I can really do is continue with the small amount that I can afford to send you through Patreon, and offer my heart felt best wishes and hopes that you recover soon and can restart your life after this horrible illness. Much love and hugs and hopes for your improvement Baz ♥

Baz Poulton

CFS can be so isolating. I don't always have a lot to say, but I'm here <3

Hi, my partner Dan and I are here for support. Dan introduced me to your videos and we miss you so much Dianna. I just sent a few pictures of our dog Petey with some encouraging words. That cute face has gotten me though some very dark and hard times, so I hope he might help you along this tough journey. We are looking forward to the day you get better and you can go back to work making videos, living your life with your partner and friends and family and maybe even adopt a dog for your family. You will get there soon Dianna! We will be here for you through this whole journey and beyond! With love from; - Gwen, Dan & Petey Dog

I love this! I should re-watch her videos as well! I really hope she recovers from this so she can continue to inspire everyone!

Alex Kocher

I think one of the last videos was of her going on a Sub, I suspect there is a lot of video that got left on the cutting room floor. I would love to see it made into another video or into shorts. I was in the Navy on Submarines, and the videos bring back old memory's. I am a Shellback which means I crossed the equator on a sub, But Dianna is a "Blue Nose" which means she was in a sub that was above the Arctic Circle. Let Dianna know we care and are pulling for her.

Clifford Philllips

We've been going through Dianna's backlog on YouTube as a family and our sons (ages 6 and 9) are absolutely in love with her content. They saw me watching this health update yesterday and asked "Dad, is there anything you can do to help her? We would be really sad if she isn't able to do what she loves anymore." I let them know that we were sending love on Patreon and that their watching her videos helps as well by letting them share her love for science. They want me to tell Dianna, "We can't wait for you to get well soon, and we really loved recreating your water vortex video in the bathtub."

Dylan Burke

I don't understand why Diana would be in this state for 5-10 years. Is there no treatment? Can someone explain? Praying for you Diana. Miracles do happen. Please, never give up.

Charles Paek

Hate to see her like this. Praying for a miracle healing for her.

Amos Fleetwood

I pray often for you, Dianna. God bless, and may He help you recover.

Michael E Bull

Praying for all of you and asking God to deliver you the power of healing. Anyone who has ever experienced your work and smiled watching you teach us about the world around us sends our love your way. God Bless You All.

Jerry Kambic

With all you're going through, I'm hoping something great is around the corner for you, Kyle and Levi. I know life isn't like that, but I can always wish upon a star...

Andrew Henderson

Hang in there Diana. We're rooting for you. My son is 9 and is becoming interested in science and engineering youtubers. In a few more months I'm certain he'll love your basic stuff (he's already applying the principles of Newton's 1st, 2nd and 3rd to win at rugby and I'm sure he'll love your stuff).

Andrew Henderson

Those videos are some of her favorites! Thank you for the support!

Dianna Cowern

(Dianna's team typing) - I know she liked the "I explain to my editor series" a lot. As well as just traveling around and talking about science. Such as in these two videos where we traveled to Mammoth to talk about the universe - 1 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9q-7GPQr1Y&t=1s&ab_channel=PhysicsGirl 2 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q67vH0SKahU&t=126s&ab_channel=PhysicsGirl But then also explaining Time Crystals, JWST, first image of a black hole. This format was one of her big dreams in science communication, and the audience received it well.

Stormy Lantz

Just for fun (yeah I know this is serious, but someday she will be able to look back and hopefully laugh at some of this), you should have let her cut about 2 inches longer on one side.....later she could look at the video and laugh at it. But seriously, we are all pulling for you. Most of us cannot imagine the stress you all are going through. Much love from those of us in the peanut gallery.

Spiderman

I have been through long-term convalescence. It's hard. I hope you let yourself have a good cry occasionally. Letting all that emotional pain flow away is a very healthful and life affirming thing to do. After some catharsis, there's a bit of recovery and an urge to reengage and continue the struggle. Many hugs! I hope you find progress sooner than expected!

Jaime Castells

We are all here with you as you get better, no matter the timeline! Sending you love and support!

Dawn Wirts

I will be right here waiting for your return… maybe you can start by identifying your most fun videos so we have reruns to watch?

Alan Crews

Thanks for the update. My thoughts are with Dianna every day. The good news is somewhat comforting to hear and let's all hope for this upward spiral to continue. I will hold on to this Patreon account as long as my budget allows me to.

RayRay 711

Thank you so much for the update, and video, though I'm devastated of course that Dianna is still suffering so much. To her and her caregivers, I wish you my best, and my congratulations on working as hard as you all are. I hope you're all proud of yourselves, at least, in the midst of the misery. Feel better, Dianna!

Jean-Philippe Suter

You’re an awesome person. You never give up. I am encouraged by your bravery through this very difficult ordeal. If there’s anything I can do or say, please let me (us, your friend) know.

Here's an update about long covid science: ======= Changes in the body provide clues for the development of Long COVID A research team that includes RECOVER researchers found changes in the immune systems of people with Long COVID. In a study supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the RECOVER Initiative, researchers tested blood drawn from 268 people with and without Long COVID. They found that 3 biological factors may help explain why some people get Long COVID: * Low levels of cortisol, a hormone that helps control the body’s response to stress and reduces inflammation * High levels of viral antigens, or cells that fight viral infections * Dormant or inactive viruses, such as the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), that become active again Researchers found that these changes in the body occurred in study participants with Long COVID regardless of their age or sex. They also found that the data they collected confirmed what the study’s Long COVID patients said about their symptoms, including coughing, difficulty breathing, and feeling very tired. The journal Nature published the study’s complete findings. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-023-06651-y According to the authors, these discoveries require more investigation. Additional studies like this one could ultimately help inform tests and treatments for Long COVID. Learn more about the study: https://www.nih.gov/news-events/nih-research-matters/immune-hormonal-features-long-covid =======

You are a fierce warrior Dianna. Keep fighting knowing you are loved. My 7 year old niece sends her own ‘love and hugs from the Rocket City’. Thank you for sharing with us. It is wonderful to see you! You both are going to make it through this. Thinking about you every day; and sending heath, strength and love to both of you.

Katy

Continually keeping everyone in my thoughts. Whether its 5 or 10 years we will be here. Sending love. You all are so strong and while you may be used to this 'new normal' I know it is still profoundly taxing. I hope that even if she doesn't 180 overnight she still is able to not suffer from crashes the way she does and she is having more peaceful days in bed instead of crashes. I will happily remain a patreon as long as it takes for her to smile and never crash again.

Bri

This makes me so sad. 5 to 10 yrs… so, tough on all of you. Are there any experimental studies/treatments she could be part of? Have you thought about getting home care help so you don't get burned out? Is there any extra we can do to cheer her and you up? 🥺

Uzannesay

I continue send positive thoughts and vibes to Diana, Kyle, and her team

Elizabeth Calvert

You are strong - Let physics and Tesla biophotons help you too and the wonders of the luminiferous aether? Seriously, keep pushing forward and we all support you 1000%. Love and blessings to you and all your caregivers.

Joe

Don't give up - We all love and miss you - how about some cellular energy support like PQQ? Consult a naturopath if you have not done so already - Reach out to Dr. Group or Graith Health as options too.

Joe

Thank you for letting us know how she's doing. I just cried watching this because of how hard it hit home. I had to get most of my hair chopped off yesterday for similar reasons. I have multiple sclerosis and spinal issues. I had an MS flare late in the summer that left me incapacitated for two months. Then in the last month my spinal issues flared and I was in bed more. I caused so much of my hair to break off that the stylist recommended going really short so my hair could grow back evenly and it wouldn't be a frazzled mess. Illness hits every part of our lives and I often mourn the person I was before I got so sick. I hope so much to see Diana recover to some degree of normalcy. She has such light and love and deep curiosity for the world around her. We're all rooting for her.

Kira Stoyko

Thank you for this update. I plan on supporting as long as it takes. 🤓🤓🤓❤️

"Dianna is very saddened to imagine she may be like this for 5 or 10 or more years" Damn, this was hard to read 😢 it's heartbreaking and frustrating at the same time. This is such an insidious condition... All I hope is that we find an effective treatment or cure so we can have Dianna and people with this condition back to full health ASAP I don't pray, but if there's a God I hope he's paying attention to all the ones who do it for you. I know they are many.

Filipe Pereira

(Levi, Dianna's editor typing) Dianna and I's trip to Switzerland is one of our most fond memories! We sat at lake Geneva eating pasta and talking about the future. Thanks for the support! We hope to go back some day.

Dianna Cowern

(Dianna's team typing) Yeah thank you for asking, I know it can be shocking and confusing. When we say her condition may be like this for 10 years or more, we are referring to the very common outcome in people that live with chronic fatigue. Dianna's ME/CFS, that has been brought on by long covid, is something that often lasts with people for decades or life. But kind of like Sean is saying, they don't have nearly enough data for long COVID and ME/CFS and everything else Dianna is going through to truly know the scope of her future. So it's all a big unknown, case by case, waiting game. Based on how chronic fatigue affects other people's lives, we should be realistic in expecting Dianna to have this for a long time.

Dianna Cowern

(Dianna's team typing) Thank you! Appreciate you being a part of that.

Dianna Cowern

I want to say something to try to help, but i know that's not how the universe works. I know just how ill you are, but I also know that you can beat this...I want you to beat this. Ill be here as long as I am able, waiting for your mashup of art and science, and a dash of entertainment magic, to come back to us. I hope this is not offensive ... but when I saw you cutting your hair, you reminded me that its possible to donate the trimmings to a wigmaker for child cancer survivors. I don't know...is that dumb? I'm just throwing out an idea ....I just thought making a little kids day by giving them the gift of a beautiful head of hair from your normal trimmings might make you both smile. Please don't be offended...I worried that this could go this way...I promise I'm trying to help you feel better... M.

Mark H

It’s hard to imagine the willpower required to keep facing something this heavy and prolonged. My heart goes out to Diana and everyone helping her. I’m impressed and emboldened by your courage.

Daniel Burt

My condition is nowhere near as bad as yours, considering that I have survived cancer twice, and gone through two operations, one to remove the back part of my tongue and the other to remove my gallbladder!!! And all of this happened between late 2019 to early this year, and I am still not a 100%!!! I really hope that you get well soon, Dianna ❤️ I love you ❤️

Vaughan W Mitchell

Send you all our love and strength! Timely this came out today, as today I'm going in to have my blood drawn as part of a long covid study being undertaken in my country (New Zealand). I am a healthy control subject, and incredibly fortunate to not have had covid at all, but I am hoping that this will help somehow in finding treatments for Dianna, to get her to where she wants to be. Lots of love!

Hang in there, Dianna. We're all here rooting for your recovery - with you for as long as it takes!

Danielle Zepess

I miss Dianna’s exuberance and the knowledge she gave us in each YT video. Whether her battle is for a year, 5 years, or 10, I will be with her along side all of her loving, caring friends. As for all of you caring for Dianna: you’re awesome, awesome people!

Eric Davis

We keep you in our hearts and look forward to seeing you laughing on video again.

Erica Peterson

Hard not to shed a tear or two... Keep fighting! You'll be well and watch at this hard time as just some bad nightmare. A great life is awaiting you (and Kyle, and everyone around you).

Alberto Segovia

Wishing you wellness Diana! And blessings to Kyle and team for taking good care of you.

Brian Eddy

Watched Sleeping Beauty (ballet) last night. We will continue supporting you, Diana. Stay strong and best wishes to you and your family. Good job on the no-look hair cut. :-)

Wynter

We love you, Dianna. We’ll be here for you.

Candice Robinson

It's great to know she's cutting her hair! You're doing great, thank you for all you've done, rest now.

Littlegreenfern

Sending Love my heart breaks every time I get this wish there was more, I could do for you Dianna. And Kyle, Cathy, and Levi You are my hero's

Gerry Cumming

When I first looked at the picture I thought it was a promo for another Disney "Sleeping Beauty" motion picture. Keep fighting and think of all the shows you will make when you can. I'm looking forward to them.

Just Old Bob

Diana and care team: you are inspirations of strength and courage! You're doing everything right, and I firmly believe that Dianna's fundamental health and resilience will win out in time.

Natasha

Hold in there, Dianna, Kyle, Cathy, Levi and everyone else in her life. Covid took our youngest and almost took me, so I am so grateful that you all have the chance to hold on to her for dear life and keep her with you. You're never alone, no matter what the world tells you. Thank you for this opportunity to help you help her. Much love, from our family to yours. <3

o.Solei.o

They don't have enough data like that for Long COVID-19, unfortunately. It hasn't been around long enough for them to know.

Sean Hasling

Sending much love from South Australia. I am so looking forward to Dianna's return to health. ❤️❤️

Leigh Newton

We'll be here, ready to welcome here, whenever she gets better!

Pablo Fernández Esteberena

what does it mean "she may be like this for 5 or 10 or more years"? does this disease last that long & that she'll be unfortunately be bed-ridden that long? if so, god, that's awful. you're in our thoughts as always Diana & we're always here to support!

Gerry Leonor

What an absolutely horrendous disease it makes me so angry that, viruses that cause ME have been around for years and the medical world have done nothing to find help or a cure. Apparently a cure for baldness has been more researched. They better be researching their little butt's off now 😤 My heart goes out to you its totally unfair, that is one strong strong woman. Sending you love from the UK I don't know how you keep going..but keep going..you all inspire us to never give up.

Lucy Fosh

Sending love 💖💖

Carolyn

Thank you for taking care of the physics queen.

Ragestrike

Thank you for taking care of her!

Juan Carlos Lopez Calvet

Best wishes from Switzerland. Cold, rainy with occasional snow here. But that's OK; it means water which is needed for the plants to grow again next Spring. Spring will come. For Dianna too. And for her care team. In 4 months, maybe, but if it's in 4 years we will still be here and have your back!

Peter Guhl

Sending the good vibes to all you! ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

Joe Kassel

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Rick Bamford

Best wishes to Dianna on her road to recovery. And a huge thank you to Kyle, Levi, Cathy and her medical support team for taking such good and loving care of Dianna. I think about her daily. Sending good vibes from North Dakota.

Scott Keehn

I wish that good wishes could actually do something to help.

Craig Good

Sending love and good vibes from Montreal, Canada.

Jesus Emmanuel Lostanau Sánchez

Thank you Kyle for sharing this difficult journey Dianna is enduring. I feel so helpless watching her struggle and hope that our Patreon support is helping to make her more comfortable. Levi thank you for staying with her as well and keeping her dedicated fans in the loop. Love and prayers!

Dean K

You guys are so good. Minding our Dianna. Thank you so much.

James Murnane

I went under surgery lately that didn't go well. I ended up in bed for more than a month with various crashes down and a total lack of cognitive energy... Before that, I never realised how taxing something like that can be. A single month and I barely managed to keep my sanity... I can't imagine how hard this last year must have been. Since than, I've been thinking of her daily. Diana. I wish you to get better as soon as possible... But take all the time you need. I think I can speak for most of us, saying that we are here to help you for the long run. Sending love from the north.

Alx

I know she has to be strong to endure this until she gets better. Although I see her laying there she is still very beautiful and very lucky to have all of you.

Terence Bailey

5 or 10 or more years?? I'm so sorry. I'm crying for a stranger :'(

David Connell

Big love to you all, especially her carers. What amazing people you are, and what a fortunate woman, to get to stay at home with those who love her.

Camela J Hicks Alexander

Love and comfort to all of you. Thanks so much for taking such good care of Dianna!

Kendric Beachey

Thank you all for everything you do every day for Diana. I'm sending big wishes for strength, comfort and healing to Diana and her entire team.

Sarah Cieslinski

Muck love and much love 😬

Mark Laube

Few things sadden me more than to see such a vibrant personality struck low. This is a long haul recovery ❤️‍🩹 guys so I’ll send $ when I can. Keep the faith and keep a life with relief from care so you don’t burn out. Muck love to you all!

Mark Laube

I've been wondering how Dianna has been doing. Thank you for the update! I will continue to support her for as long as I can. Take care!

John DeJarnatt

We're all sticking with you, Dianna. Thanks for the update, and, not going anywhere.

dino@deanlm.com

Love and support from Hamburg, Germany! I wish you all the best!

Heiko Weber

Please tell Diana she better not take 10 years to get better. I'm getting older by the minute. I think it's safe to say that we are in it for the long haul with her. We fervently hope it is really the short haul. I really need her to explain the meaning of the new galaxies in the 400 million range or thereabouts after the Big bang that JWT has discovered. I suspect that dark matter or energy plays a role and perhaps there is gravitational lensing and due to that matter type. But all things to ponder for another day and hope she will help us make sense of it all. Love from Connecticut!

Jay Kean

Sending all the love to Dianna, and immense gratitude to Kyle, Levi, Cathy, and the entire family. You're the real heroes, and Dianna is blessed for having such a wonderful inner circle of friends and family. Count on us; we'll be here every step of the way, sending positive energy and prayers, and wishing Dianna full recovery.

Gui Ambros

Been craving an update. My heart goes squish for the suffering of PG & Family. Long covid blows chunks.

Jill

Dianna, hey there. Sending you lots of love!

Kooster

Sticking with our girl, hope she is improving.

Richard Morton

Diana I must tell you this. I have CFS/FMS and have for more than 25 years. There was a time that I could not even walk across my living room. Couldn’t eat or take care of myself. Had millions of dollars in tests. Multiple medications! Nothing worked. I was down! One day my doctor came in and said well you have two choices one is lay down and die the other get up and live! I chose the latter. I started by literally walking across the living room three times a day. For weeks and then across the living room and down the drive for weeks, then across the street, then down the street and then around the block and… until about 6 months I was hiking three or four miles living my life again. It has lasted until today. I still to this day struggle some days but mostly not. I skied and hiked mountains and enjoyed my life. I am 71 now and this has been a journey. No one but you can take and you can win this journey. It takes unflinching focus and pain and tears. But you can win if you want. Please let me know if you would like to just talk to someone who knows the journey.

Dave Huffman

Thanks for keeping us informed, Levi. I hope every day is a little better for her and for Kyle. I hope kyke is getting the help he needs to get through that terrible experience. He might need therapy and all the support possible to stay strong and be there to here.

ignacio letelier

You all have so much love and support coming all over the world.

Heidi A

We know it is a parasocial relationship. We feel we know her, but she is genuinely known to her family and friends and that is special for her. Still, we feel we've gained much knowledge and joy in that knowledge from Dianna. So, our hearts are full of hope that her strength returns for her family and friends. If we are so lucky to have Dianna one day provides her gifts of knowledge and enthusiastic communication to us, it would be a wonderful bonus.

Paul Bernhardt

Much love to Diana and the amazing support team that is helping her through this recovery.

BT

So sad to see such a vibrant woman brought so low - I am mentally sending her gentle hugs and affection & fervent hopes that it won't be years before Dianna gets her mojo back.

Nigel D Perels

Please share with Dianna and all those caring for her that her situation is being used to help others learn of and understand the possible risks and consequences of getting COVID. I’m older and have cardiovascular disease which puts me at high risk. My immediate family has been in isolation since the pandemic started. I would love to get together with friends, go to a yoga class or other social activity but I don’t because I understand the risk, not just for me but for those dearest to me. Having a window into Dianna’s situation helps me to rationalize my caution. Dianna has long been an inspiration to me. I was a physics major early in college but the math was just too much. I loved watching Dianna’s explanations of physics phenomena along with her vibrant personality and occasional silliness. All of her fans are looking forward to seeing her get well and bring her uniqueness back to the world. Sending good energy and my best wishes to Dianna and all those who are helping her through these difficult times.

Barry

Hang in there Dianna, and you too, Kyle, Levi, Cathy, and all the others here and elsewhere who are doing all we can to help.

HotFlashFoto

Thank you Levi for the update. My daughter has been going through a very slow recovery from deep depression with anxieties and OCD for more than a year. I feeeeel what it feels when your loved one is in this state for that long. Dianna will be back to normal life but it is so hard to wait and keep hope. ❤️

Artyom

In 30 seconds, she just saved herself $60! 🙂 Thanks so much for the update. Let her know that the main thing she's missing in the world of science is that AI is going to start solving everyone's problems in another year or two (and creating new problems).😁 Truly hoping AI can quickly find treatments and cures for diseases like this. ❤️ We miss you, Dianna.

It’s so heartening to see she has the strength, will and clarity to cut her own hair! These small videos are very important to document her condition, but also to keep us, who care and hope for her recovery, connected and reflecting on her. All of you are true hero’s for your companionate, enduring care. It is true love and an inspiring reminder, in my life, of the goodness to be found in humanity. Thank you for your love.

Sean Marquet

thinking of you!!

AJ

I'm the parent of two adult children so my heart goes out to Cathy as it must hurt her to see Dianna in this state. Thanks to all those surrounding Dianna for their love and support. Thoughts of gratitude to Cathy, Kyle, Levi and the many others sacrificing to help Dianna. I can only imagine the tremendous spirit Dianne is and the angels tending to her daily with meals, comfort, cheering her up as she's able to absorb it. "No greater love..." is being demonstrated by those around her and those who take an interest in her recovery. If the world had more people like Dianna, Cathy, Kyle, Levi and others, there would be far fewer problems in humanity. We need Dianna back. From the very core of my soul I thank everyone tending to her.

goroberts56 .

It's heartbreaking. Thank you all the people helping her.

Harry Fleishman

It is utterly horrific that Diana (or anyone) should suffer in this way. I am very glad that she has the support of friends and family like yourselves.

David Neale-Lorello

Every once in a while, the YouTube algorithm offers up one of the Physics Girl videos from a happier time--latest was the 'Moving Mudpuddle'--and I realize what a contribution you made and look forward with hope to your recovery. Not to the burden of a production schedule; just regular life again. I don't imagine my sentiment is unique. Stay alive; you are loved.

Donal Botkin

Would we get some guidance where or possibly create your own update, not on Dianna, but possible updates on research on what is known about the disease? What maybe is happening? It's all heartbreaking, its new, and with that in mind, it is still hard to wrap logic around it all. Not the fairness, but cause and effect. :( Hopefully she can see some good photos people send in when she gets better.

brennan adkins

Dianna remains in my prayers every day.

Jeff Pope

Thank you Levi ♥️ And blessings to you all.

Koren Taylor

I am sorry that the news isn't speeder for her caregivers ans herself. But I am so grateful she has all of you.

Jessica M Kelsey

Thank to the support team and here's to some serious improvement. The world is very much in need of you Dianna.

steve crandall

Dear Dianna, I am praying for you every day. Don’t give up hope. You’re setting an example for us all of perseverance. God bless you, dear🙏🏽

Katey

I look forward to the upcoming video of Dianna announcing that this ordeal is over and that she can enrich the world with her enthusiasm for learning and teaching again! Thank you for the update, we're all hoping for the best

Jeff Jones

Thank you for the update. I was hoping for a glimmer of hope and although it's very slight, it does give us all hope that Dianna will bounce back from this one day. Dianna should know we are all here supporting her and rooting for her, and sending her strong, healing vibes. She is not alone physically with Kyle, her family and friends around her, and she CERTAINLY is not alone online, where all of us fans and followers are wishing her well and hoping she gets better soon.

Stefano Landi

Thank you for the video Kyle and thank you for the update Levi. I wish tomorrow there will be a miracle cure!! Until there is, you and the docs are her heroes. Keep up hope, we sure do!

I was recently diagnosed with ALS and came upon some research about Magnesium Threonate success with Alzheimer patients. The idea being that this form of Magnesium crosses the brain/blood barrier. Might possibly help with brain fog too... https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36558392/ https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/magnesium-threonate#side-effects https://www.amazon.com/Providing-Elemental-Magnesium-L-Threonate-Bisglycinate/dp/B09TGTBQQ6/ref=sr_1_8?keywords=magnesium%2Bl-threonate&sr=8-8&th=1

Hans Scharnbeck

All my thoughts and good wishes go out to Dianna and her team. Here's hoping that the improvements continue.

Michael Sperry

Levi, thanks so much for the update and your direct support of Dianna. We're all so grateful for your compassion, and it gives me hope for humanity.

howrad

I hope you get better soon, Dianna. When I am in a similar situation, it helps me to know that someone, in this world, has gone through this, and lived to tell the tale. I have had many days like this, where my blanket or t-shirt feel almost itchy, or some other kind of irritating, and those days are usually the worst. When I first started my chronic illness journey, I all but shaved my head. I think I had maybe 1/4-1/2” (6-12mm) of hair left. I didn’t have to worry about tangles, spending extra time messing with it, and I could rock cute hats, if I was feeling self conscious. I am hoping that you’re still using home health, and that you’re getting hydration, as needed. Getting IV fluids is one of the best ways, I have found for my body, to get out of a low spot or flare. I joke, frequently, that I am extra salty, with the extra salt and fluids I am getting, either drinking or from IVs. I have over a decade of experience, dealing with the medical system, and finding ways to get better or how to get better listened to, by a medical professional. If there is anything I can do, to help you, please don’t hesitate to ask. I have many medical conditions, a wealth of knowledge I want to share with others, and a lot of downtime, doing my own treatments. Fingers crossed this flare goes away! -Allyssa

Allyssa Buthmann

Gary, I'm so sorry for your loss and grateful for you sharing that with us. I definitely feel the solidarity that we're all here together pulling for Dianna.

howrad

Sorry man... I hope you're staying strong and pulling through this. You can do it! Time dulls the throb of many wounds, I hope it helps you heal from yours. Much Love!

Kieran Le Cam

Been waiting for update. Keep it up all of You :)

Mohavior

Sending you all of my love Diana. I’m going to try starting Harvoni next week (bought overseas), so had to titrate off all my meds and really feeling it hard. So many of us are in this Long Covid marathon. We are in it together and we won’t give up on each other or leave each other behind. Big hugs.

Centralperk

May God bless all of your caretakers. I watch some of your past videos and so want you to return to some semblance of normalcy.

Mark Peterson

Sending you all our love and support, hoping your journey towards recovery is starting and you’ll feel well soon .

Victor Lopez

When these updates pop into my Inbox I brace myself before clicking on the link to the video. It's great to read that there's progress and hope for Dianna (it still feels funny that Physics Girl has a real name) but that long, long road ahead seems like such a mammoth task and brings tears to my eyes. We're still here for you all and especially for our Physics Girl.

Doug Ingram

This breaks my heart. I can’t even imagine how trying this is for all of you. We appreciate these updates, & we will continue to support Diana for as long as we can. Sending you all lots of virtual hugs! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

SomeGirl EH

Thanks for the update! I know it's a shallow sentiment, but if you think she'd enjoy hearing it, please tell Dianna that seeing her face completely relaxed and without makeup reveals just how beautiful her features are!

Phil Stubblefield

Hope everything is as good as it can be, props to all of you for handling this, month after month like champs. Fight on! You can do this! Wipe the floor with this disease! Much Love 💗

Kieran Le Cam

I pray for you all. I am so proud of you Diana for fighting like you do. Tons of love!

tatoute

I am so very sorry for your loss. 😞 I hope the weight of that loss eases with time. ♥️♥️♥️

SomeGirl EH

I'm sorry for your loss and wish you all the best in these challenging times.

Andre K

I sincerely hope that it doesn't take that long for her to recover! I can't imagine what kind of rehab she'll have to endure after all of this... 😘💗

Dale Allen Platt

Thanks for sharing an update with us. We will keep supporting all of you. Stay strong. You aren't alone.

Mickaël Godard

❤️

Rich

I'll be honest that this is hard for me to watch and think about. I signed up right after my son got very sick last year because it made me feel a little better trying to help someone else. I lost my son and I desperately want you to get better.

Gary Huntress

Just breaks my heart for you all, hoping for a cure for this wonderful human, and for all affected by this horrid disease 💕💕💕

Julie Sullivan

We are also here for the long haul.

Paul Ljucovic

❤️

John P Larson

There's no rush. And no universal healing schedule.

Chad Tindale

A slow crawl forward is still forward. Can we send cards/well wishes to the physics girl P.O. Box? Or would that be too taxing on her right now?

Suzanne Strickland

sending love❤️❤️❤️

Ingrid

Gosh you can see how dark her hair is compared to how we're used to it what with not getting outside, sending you guys all the love and healing vibes, I think about Dianna a lot

Stacy Litwin

Oh, Dianna, I’ve thought of you so often , wondering how you’re doing. I send good wishes to you, and your loving husband, and the rest of your caring support system , and I send good vibes into the universe for your full recovery SOON. You’ve been traveling such a rough seas; you now well deserve smooth sailing.💕☀️😁

Jean

I wish everyone involved all the love and strength to fight! <3

Jannik Neumann

It’s tough to come up from a crash a little bit and get excited about feeling better! I was feeling quite on top of things three days ago. Overdid it. Back on my ass again! Keep at it Diana. You may feel alone, but a lot of us are out here flying solo together :)

Kevin Liam O'Donnell

I know it sucks to have to do that, but it is very important for you emotionally. Stay strong, and lots of love from South Carolina
