WIP: Fragrance Collector Aspiration and more...

Today I have worked a bit wit one of my two planned aspirations for this mod. I didn’t think I would work on this before the skill was complete, but I got a feeling these days and so this happened. And a positive outcome from this is that I had to work a little with other features as well to be able to make the goals playable. I have not fully completed this aspiration yet, but I have come a long way I belive. And I thought I should give you some sneak peaks.


This is the first milstone, and because of trouble with modding collections to the same way the game handles them I had to come up with a work arround. So when sims have a perfume they can decide to add the perfume to their perfume collection, or just keep it as it is. I added an interaction to add a perfume to the collection and one to remove, in case they want to change the contents of the collection to fo example better quality. There can only be one of a specific item in a collection.


This is the second milstone, here I had to make a way to becoma a member in the Fragrance Club. Sims can do that by register a membership on the computer when have learned about the club´s existence.  They are also supposed to be able to be recruited by other sims that already are members, but this feature is not completed yet. At the moment the features of the Fragrance Club are to collect points from purchases and recruiting other members, to get reward vouchers to use in their online store. In the normal store sims can buy normal quality perfume, but in this club store they can buy excellent quality perfume that will have longer effects. There are 4 different types of voucers to use. But I leave exactly what to be a surprice, even if it is nothing super special, just a little fun.


This is the third milstone, nothing more interesting than what I have already told. I had to add a happy buff for sims that getting compliments for their perfume, that I had already planned but had not done, to be able to count times other sims tells my sim that they like their perfume. This is a feature that is not autonomous at the moment I think, but they acan ask other sims what they think about their perfume and get answers that way, but I plan to set some kind of autonomous behaivour for these reactions from other sims in future. The socials that will be counted are friendly and romanticly compliments for the perfume and when sims tells you they like or love your perfume. I also plan to add bad buffs to the sim when sims says negative things about their perfume. This milstone is supposed to have 4 goals when it is done, just like the first and the second one. One can also see I have not enough actual perfumes in the mod to be able to complete the last goal in this. At the moment I only have 8 different perfumes, so will need to add a couple more before this is released.


This is the fourth milstone, and like the third it is supposed to have 4 goals when it is done. The new thing here are to give perfume advices, and actually this is not really new yet, because it is not more done than actually plan the feature. At the moment sims with high enough skill can give perfume advices to other sims, this interaction doesn´t have any more stuff than it gives buffs, but my goal here is to add a litte bit of gameplay here with an object picker that lets the player advice a picked perfume to the other sim based on their known scent preferences, and let the outcome depend on how well the perfume will fit the other sim´s taste. Maybe add two versions, one that lets the sim choose themself instead of the player, maybe let that be decided by a select box with two alternatives. Not sure about that yet. And we have to see how well this works also, I can´t promise it will work out as intended util I have tried. Oh, I also see now that I have made a spelling mistake in the goal text, will fix that before launch for sure. 
Anything else?
Well, most of my work with perfume creation are completed now. I only need to test it a little bit more without the scent recipes installed, to know how it will be when palyers wont have all packs, because I plan to have creation of scent-bottles optional, because they require to have some packs or some other harvestable mods from a few picked modders. 
I have worked a little bit more with the skill, but because of it is a big skill with 10 levels it takes a while. And to be honest, I am not 100% sure what features it will bring. I have some ideas left to implement, but I feel I want there to be a lot more that that to make it really fun, and useful for both sims with this aspiration, sims with the "master perfume creator" aspiration and sims in general.
Oh and another fun addition I have worked a little bit on is for players with Eco Lifestyle there will be an addon to make fragranced candles on the candle making table. They are supposed to smell like the perfumes, and will be made with the same ingredients as the candles and the perfumes together, and will give sims similar buffs as when they use the perfumes.
And about the trouble I had previously with the special online store not being able to sell better quality perfumes is not a problem anymore, because when the patchfor Cottage Living was out, it also came with some updated code that made exactly that posstible, and I was very happy about that.
Some other ideas I have for the mod, that might come much later, are to add some work from home career, some special things retail stores selling perfumes, and some more details arround the allergy aspect. And there are more things as well, just dont wanna share everything in one post. More to come.
